Nationwide Criminal Records Database Searches -
This search includes information from the following sources:
Multi-State Sex Offender Database, AppALERT, the FBI Terrorist List
and Federal/State/Local Wanted Fugitive Lists. C.O.P.S. may be used
as a stand-alone service or in conjunction with county criminal
searches. When used in conjunction with county criminal searches,
C.O.P.S. can help lower the cost of such searches by better
identifying which counties should be searched.
Criminal data sources typically include:
Crime Watch - While many organizations conduct pre-hire criminal screening, very few monitor the criminal record activity of individuals after they are hired. This oversight leaves organizations open to undue risk and liability. Crime Watch mitigates this risk by providing a recurring, automated criminal-records search service that helps employers to stay abreast of an active employee's criminal activity. Crime Watch regularly scans nationwide criminal databases and notifies employers when the criminal records search is complete for employees on their subscription list.
County Criminal Record Searches - This search
provides criminal record searches in any U.S. County. These searches
are accessed via the Clerk of Courts Office in the specific county
responsible for the applicant's current and/or former resident,
and/or work addresses. We search felony and/or misdemeanor indexes
(involving statutory offenses), for the past 7 years.
Each address location that resides within a different court
jurisdiction is considered a separate criminal record search. Also,
in a situation where an applicant has multiple names, each name will
require a separate search.
Federal Criminal History - This search provides criminal record searches in the federal district court record system in your applicant's district of residence and verify any records matched by your applicant's name. Federal criminal cases involve interstate or white collar crimes.
